Questions to ask every installer

• What is the total price and the price per watt (DC)? Does it include permits, electrical upgrades, the utility connection and any panel upgrade?
• Which panels and inverter (or microinverters) are proposed? What are the product, performance and workmanship warranties, and who honours them if your company closes?
• How did you estimate production? What shading, snow and inverter losses did you include?
• What electricity price, yearly price increase and export credit did you assume for the savings?
• Will you apply for the utility interconnection and any rebate pre-approval before work starts?
• Is my roof in good enough shape to last as long as the panels? What does removal and reinstallation cost?
